Introduction
Practical coverage of SIP, including interpretation and diagramming of call flows. Overview of best practices in end to end SIP interworking.
Audience
This is a broad-based program relevant to engineers responsible for core network operations as well as the customer premise. Depending on the size and level of experience of the students, the latter portion of the course can be adapted to a workshop format with “deep dives” in areas of interest.
Prerequisites
- TCP/IP fundamentals
Objectives
- working knowledge of SIP protocol fundamentals
- practical understanding of commercial non-IMS topologies
- ability to diagram and understand a SIP service flow from a SIP log
